The only problem that I faced was when I exported my video into itunes, there was some added sounds on the itunes version, however when I played it back through imovie, the sound wasn't there. So i'm not too sure why sounds have been moved around in the finished product - it isn't a huge issue.
I chose to do a short film/advert to challenge myself in the editing process and filming process, so that I get a real insight into the type of things that are to come in media a-level.
Hope you enjoy my 'Marital Murder'.
Thanks for watching - feedback would be much appreciated!
There's some very good framing and composition here (for example, the opening shot of the car; the cyclist is quite an impressive addition as well!) You've used a good range of shots here, and created a sense of narrative. One thing to notice is the change in tone between the shot where the woman opens the door to where she enters the house (it goes from "cold", with stark whites and a slightly blue tint) to "warm", with everything tinted slightly pink. This is called white balance and it's to do with how the camera reacts under different types of light. One of the things to consider in the future is how to use dissolves as opposed to cuts. Generally, you would use cuts - a dissolve denotes that some time has passed. The editing cross-cutting between the gunman and the kettle is very effective. Some of the movement is very good - the pan at about 1:10, for example, is very smooth. The zoom into the gun is also very good in narrative terms, although it's often hard to make zooms using domestic cameras really smooth. We'll need to work out what the issue with the soundtrack was. Well done.
